A CHILD'S PRAYER TO THE HOLY FAMILY Holy Mary, Mother of God, I beg you And your beloved husband, Saint Joseph, Just as you once cradled the Child Jesus Safely in your loving arms, Please protect me, God's precious child, From men and women Who prey upon my helplessness and trust, Destroying my faith, my hope, my love, My very life. Amen.
RECENT LETTER TO POPE FRANCIS I
Dear Pope Francis I,
The Holy Family hears the sorrowful cries of children everywhere who are suffering the pain of sexual abuse.
Their answer is A CHILD’S PRAYER TO THE HOLY FAMILY.
You, Holy Father, are walking in the footsteps of St. Francis.
The love of St. Francis and the love of the Holy Family for all God’s children will destroy this horrific evil.
God Bless You,
Eileen M. Holleran
One of the millions of sorrowful mothers
After trying for fourteen years to get the hierarchy of the Catholic Church to distribute the beautiful CHILD'S PRAYER TO THE HOLY FAMILY, I've finally admitted to myself that they may say they care, but tragically they don't.
What a sad commentary! As I recall we were taught that bishops are the shepherds of the people, the leaders who care, especially for the most vulnerable, the children.
Obviously getting the prayer out is up to us. Please copy the prayer card and give it to your friends and family and ask them to ask their friends and families to do the same.
In addition to protecting children, several people have told me that saying the prayer has helped them to recover from childhood sexual abuse.
At least we know that The Holy Family cares.
Thanks for helping,

Last summer you wrote me to tell me about your family and the shame of abuse. Thank you for the little prayer which I will translate into German. May be all be helped through these terrible sufferings to never silence again such evil. May God bless your family!

Thanks so much for the Christmas greeting and letter, with the encouraging and uplifting report about your tremendous ministry of prayerful defense of the defenseless. May the Lord bless you, Eileen, especially in this season when the Christ Child is foremost in our thoughts as the prototype of loveable and helpless children.
John H. Hampsch, cmf.
I want to thank you for the letter you sent on the issue of child sexual abuse and your family's horrific story. I commend your courage and strength in the face of this terrible evil, and I send you my deepest sympathy. Your family has had more than its share of burdens to bear. And yet, you have found the faith and goodness to transmute your sorrow into helping others.
You and your husband, Jim, as graduates of Marquette and the College of the Holy Cross, both outstanding Jesuit institutions, have truly exemplified our tenet of living as "men and women for others." I pray that such work will protect children now and in the future from suffering as your family so sadly has.
I will consult with our chaplains here at Holy Cross about what we may do to support these goals. These are certainly concerns that we have shared for a very long time. I appreciate your contacting me and sharing with me what must be the most painful, heartbreaking story a parent can tell.
I will keep you, Jim, Kathy, and your entire family in my prayers. May God bless you and comfort you, now and always.
Michael C. McFarland, S.J.
When you speak to Pope Benedict XVI please ask him to honor the wish of the Holy Family. He knows how desperately the world needs this powerful prayer and understands the pain caused by the child sexual abuse cover-up practiced by some members of the hierarchy.
As St. Paul said, "We must fight evil with good."¯
The Holy Family will richly bless you for your efforts to help spread their powerful prayer without the world.

| GOOD IS STRONGER THAN EVIL|
If you like to sleep at night, it may be wisest that you read no further, but if you can handle the truth, no matter how horrific, read on.
Tragically four of our six children were sexually abused as toddlers by men and women who belonged to a pedophile ring that operated in New York City and on Long Island, New York. The children were threatened that if they mentioned the abuse to anyone, all the members of their family would be killed, so, of course, the horrific details were suppressed.
Ten years ago our eldest daughter began to suffer episodes of paralysis of speech and movement. She was examined at the Pittsburgh Neurological Hospital. The doctors could find no evidence of a neurological problem, so they concluded that it had to be something psychological and recommended psychological therapy. After several months of therapy, our daughter began to recall the abuse. The abusers took all the children on our block who were under the age of two. One of the pedophiles was a world- renowned pediatrician who knew that a child's memory is not fully formed until the age of two. As a result of the abuse our second daughter suffered from border-line personality disorder for the next 33 years of her life. She hid the disorder behind a delightful wit and sense of humor, a wonderful knack for making friends, and outstanding athletic ability. The damage she suffered from the abuse finally took its toll. Two days before she died she told me, “I still don't know who I am and what I am to do with my life. What a tragic waste of a beautiful life. Now for the good part.
Two weeks after her death, I awoke in the middle of the night with a beautiful prayer on my lips. I got out of bed, wrote the prayer down, showed it to many of our close friends and family members, but had no idea what more I could do with the prayer. The following summer I met a Claretian missionary priest, Father John Hampsch, who told me that prayer was a gift and that I must get it out to the world. Fourteen years later, it's happening.
Thousands of people around the world are saying, A CHILD'S PRAYER TO THE HOLY FAMILY.
Please join your voice with theirs and ask the Holy Family to protect all God's precious children. The world's abused children thank you for your love and prayers.
